Project Accountant

Position Overview

AGAE Contractors, Inc, is currently seeking astute team members for a Project Accountant role for the Building Division in Elk Grove Village, IL. The Project Accountant (PA) is responsible for the oversight of financial accounting work related to various construction projects; including coordination of subcontractor invoices, delivery of contracts and other documents as well as maintaining a positive relationship with the client, vendors, and subcontractors. The PA is responsible for invoicing clients. The ideal candidate will be looking to create strong relationships with subcontractors. Individuals must be self-motivated and possess strong communication/interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • The review and processing of subcontracts, change orders, development, and follow-up of client required paperwork;
  • The development of AIA G702/G703 forms;
  • The attention to detail that allows them to review Waivers of Lien and identify and correct any potential issues;
  • The accurate payment to subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Monthly assistance to Project Management staff in the preparation of monthly billings to clients;
  • Assisting the CFO in the development of the monthly financial statements;
  • A strong commitment to communicating with all Project Management staff members to ensure coordination of all financial aspects to all stakeholders;
  • Review of Certified Payrolls and Prevailing Wage submittals;
  • A strong customer and subcontractor focus;
  • Superior service and client relations; and
  • A commitment to assisting the company to grow and prosper.

Qualifications

  • A 2 or 4-year college degree is preferred
  • The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of construction industry finance experience, but we are willing to train smart people that are willing to learn.
  • Solid computers skills with MS Office Suite, while experience with construction financial software is a plus.
  • Someone that is well organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and can multi-task.
  • Someone that can prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communicator.
  • Willing to work collaboratively with the rest of our AGAE team.
