Project Manager

Position Overview

AGAE Contractors, Inc, is currently seeking a full-time Project Manager (PM) to oversee the construction and delivery of both new construction and renovation projects ranging from $1 - $15+ million. This primarily office-based position includes managing 3-6 projects, concurrently, under limited supervision. Experience in educational settings is a major plus! The PM is responsible for the management of the entire project, including scheduling, purchasing, quality, and safety. The Project Manager will support and work with management, operations, finance, and the estimating staff in their view of project plans, requirements and specifications, and the overall project management. The PM must know about construction means and methods, costs, and engineering principles. The ideal candidate will be looking to create strong relationships with subcontractors or expand their already existing network. Individuals must be self-motivated, possess strong communication/interpersonal skills, and be confident in his/her ability to develop and manage multiple projects at one time.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Superintendent(s).
  • Negotiate financial disputes and change orders with owners.
  • Point of contact for client project management staff, architects, subcontractors, owners, engineers, and more.
  • Document and negotiate changes that may affect project completion or contract costs with subcontractors and owners.
  • Collaboration of project safety plan with Superintendent(s).
  • Responsible for managing MBE/WBE subcontracting requirements.
  • Responsible for EEO/Affirmative action contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with estimating team in the review of construction plans/specifications and break the scope of work into subcontractor trade packages.
  • Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks.
  • Have demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Understand project logistics and project schedule.
  • Prepare and present closing packages.

 

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of construction industry project management experience is preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple projects at one time.
  • Solid computers skills with MS Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Knowledge of construction cost and engineering principles, design, cost reporting, and cash flow management.
  • Well organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and can multi-task.
  • Can prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demands.
  • Excellent written and oral communicator.
  • Willing to work collaboratively with the AGAE team.
